This week has just flown by! The past few years have flown by really. It’s like you get older and one day you age 3 years over night. Am I really 26 already? Is this where I wanted to be at 26? If not, it’s not the end of the world. It’s just time to take control and make things happen.
Regardless of feeling like I’ve lost so much time I’m really excited for this weekend. I have so much planned! Tonight is one of my bestest’s birthdays and we are going to a fun little dance joint called S4. Saturday morning I’ll be doing an orientation for Hope’s Door. If you aren’t aware of it it’s a homeless shelter for women and children that have been the victim of domestic violence. If you’d like to donate to the cause you can do so here. Afterwards I’ll be heading to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, don’t worry there will be plenty of pictures for this. Then on my way to a friends to do some great projects to blog about here for you all!
Sunday is going to be a little better paced. I will be going mountain biking at some great local trails in town called Rowlett Creek Preserve. If you are from the DFW area you should definitely check them out. Once I’m nice and sweaty I’ll be heading to top golf to give my swing a go. I’ve never golfed before so this is going to be quite the experience for me.
I have some exciting news about my current goals and a new one that will be added to the list!
I have just purchased a weekend Conference pass for BlogHer2014! That may not mean much to non-bloggers but I couldn’t be happier about it. I am grateful that I will get an opportunity to surround myself by like-minded people in order to learn new skills and develop myself as an individual.
And on to the goals update!
1. Read at least one new book a month
This one is coming along slowly but surely. I am actually reading a different book than I intended to at the start of this but it’s one I’ve been trying to finish for awhile so I feel it is more appropriate. It is called The New Rules of Lifting for Woman. It is full of great information about proper workout techniques as well as workouts. There are also chapters that go over nutrition and macronutrients and they’ve added a bonus section with recipes and meal plans. So close! I’d say I’m about 80% done and I’m sure I’ll be able to finish by the end of the month.
2. Start earning additional income through side hustles
Unfortunately I have not yet earned any additional income but I have taken steps to get me there. I have set up some affiliate accounts and contacted some vendors about representation and am waiting on responses. Fingers crossed! I also will be getting a bit of a change in my household starting next week so I’m sure a garage sale is in order soon.
3. Work out at least 3 days a week
I have sadly not kept up with this. It’s really frustrating because I was at one point working out 5 days a week. I have gone once but it’s not near enough and I can feel the difference. I will be getting a good workout this weekend though so hopefully I can make up for the loss that I’ve had this week.
4. Eat breakfast at home and bring my lunch to work every day
So close on this! I did breakfast at home every day until today. The worst part is that I did make my breakfast but it tasted awful so I stopped at McDonalds on the way here. I also oopsed a few times at lunch due to lack of preparation but I did much better this week than last so I’m happy with the progress. Any suggestions on successfully meal prepping lunch?
5. Blog at least 4 days a week
I would say I’ve hit this one out of the ballpark. I’ve blogged every day since the site was launched! I can’t say this will be standard practice but I’m happy that I’ve been able to do what I have. I have a brewing this weekend and I can’t wait to share them with ya’ll!
6. !!!EXCITING NEW GOAL!!! Make $800 in side hustle income by May 1st
I have to get to the conference somehow, not to mention have a place to stay. I am excited and a little intimated by this one but by golly I can do it!
